Soap rivals to go against each other in Jungle return

Helen Flanagan and Charlie Brooks are going head-to-head in ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’

Ex-‘Coronation Street’ babe Helen – the soap’s Rosie Webster – will be landing in the Australian jungle with Charlie, who is on a six month break from playing Janine Butcher in ‘EastEnders’.

According to the People newspaper, they will be joined by a diverse range of stars including boxer David Haye, ex-Pussycat Dolls dancer Ashley Roberts, ‘Birds of a Feather’ star Linda Robson, comedian Brian Conley, former ‘Doctor Who’ actor Colin Baker and an as-yet-unnamed female MP.

A ITV source said: “Producers are delighted with this year’s line-up.

“They feel that there is a really good mix. They’ve been trying to find the right celebrities for a few months now and are pleased with who they have selected.”

Speaking about Charlie, 31, the source added: “She is a real coup for them. She has been on TV since she was young and they’re looking forward to the public seeing what she’s really like.”

Also ready to rough it up in the jungle is former ‘Made in Chelsea’ star Hugo Taylor, Rosemary Shrager - a celebrity cook on ITV’s ‘Ladette to Lady’ - and darts player Eric Bristow. Also in the frame is former wrestler and action movie star Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, although show bosses have yet to finalise his contract.

This year producers are said to have lined up their most gruelling Bushtucker Trials to date, with stars set to dine on kangaroo testicles and raw shark brains.

‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’, hosted by Ant and Dec, will kick off on November 11.
