Doorstop turns out to be Beatles award
A bronze statue found in an abandoned office block as it was being demolished in the 1980s, and used as a doorstop ever since, has turned out to be an Ivor Novello award given to the Beatles.
It was awarded to publisher Northern Songs for the 1966 hit 'Yellow Submarine'.
The woman who discovered it at the time in a desk is hoping to raise £5,000 (€6,200).
