Crowe and wife 'split up'

Russell Crowe is reported to have split from his wife of nine years.

The 'Gladiator' actor and musician Danielle Spencer, who tied the knot in 2003 and have two sons together, have separated amicably, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.

The couple have not commented on speculation about a split, which comes after rumours their romance was in trouble this summer.

Crowe, 48, is said to be throwing himself into shooting his new film 'Noah' in the US, while Spencer, 43, is at their home in Australia with their sons Charles, eight, and six-year-old Tennyson.
