Cheryl Cole has revealed that she only returned to 'The X Factor' because judge and friend Gary Barlow asked her to.
The 'Call My Name' singer said this after Simon Cowell tweeted: "Welcome back Cheryl. X", snubbing his comment by responding with: "I saw Simon's tweet. I'm not doing this for him. I am doing this for Gary as he's my friend and he asked me to do it."
Although fans originally thought that Robbie Williams would be Gary's sidekick, Cole, 30, joined Barlow at Boughton House in Northamptonshire this weekend to help him choose contestants.
Barlow publicly thanked her for her contribution, Tweeting: "Thank you @CherylCole for all your help this weekend.
"The contestants and I loved having you there xx."
Robbie will instead host a masterclass for this year's hopefuls during the live audition rounds as well as performing live on the show to promote his forthcoming solo album.
Singer Ne-Yo will be helping Nicole Scherzinger choose between the Boys in Dubai, Tinie Tempah is teaming up with Tulisa to pick the Girls in the Caribbean and Louis Walsh will be joined by another ex-judge, Sharon Osbourne, to choose between the groups in Las Vegas.
The show returns Saturday on ITV1.
