Cowell returns to make 'X Factor' changes

Simon Cowell has flown into the UK to give 'The X Factor' a "mini makeover".

The music mogul is said to be unhappy with declining ratings and criticism of the latest series of the talent show so is personally overseeing the edits to give this weekend's shows an overhaul.

A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "This weekend is the first time there are two shows, one on each night, and he is determined they look great and have huge audiences.

"He is sitting through the rough edits and changing bits and pieces where he feels they need it. It's the first time this year he will be really hands-on in the UK.

"Some fans feel there has been too much reality and stuff off the stage so don't be surprised if there is more singing this week after Simon has finished his mini makeover."

Meanwhile, Cowell has confirmed he is planning to have the stars of Team GB involved in the show in some way.

He told Channel 5 news: "We're going to do something around the Olympics on one of the live shows so they're all welcome.

"We like having heroes on our show."

Cowell has denied rumours he is going to appear on 'The X Factor', but says he's not ruling out a return in the future.
