Friends and former TV colleagues of the late presenter Caron Keating gathered today to celebrate the second marriage of her widowed husband Russ Lindsay.
Former Blue Peter presenter Janet Ellis, daytime TV hosts Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan, This Morning presenter Phillip Schofield and presenting duo Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, were all among guests at the ceremony held in a 400-year-old country house hotel in Surrey.
Anthea Turner and her husband Grant Bovey arrived shortly before the 3.30 ceremony. Ms Turner – wearing a cream prom dress with a coffee coloured ribbon belt – was reported to be playing a role in the ceremony and was overheard explaining to a guest that she was “not quite a bridesmaid”.
TV presenter Gloria Hunniford was not among the guests at her son-in-law’s marriage to former GMTV weather girl Sally Meen. But Mr Lindsay’s two sons, Charlie, 11, and Gabriel, 9, were seen excitedly racing around the hotel grounds before the ceremony.
It was reported, although not confirmed, that they were pageboys at their father’s wedding.
Former Radio One DJ Peter Powell was the best man. He said that the guests, several of whom had taken rooms at the Great Fosters Hotel in Egham, Surrey, had gathered in the conservatory for drinks before the marriage ceremony in the hotel’s orangery and later retired to the oak-beamed tithe barn for dinner, accompanied by a live band.
