Gardaí had a quick chat with Santa in Kildare today

Gardaí in Kildare had a close call with Santa Claus this morning as he made his way to Temple Street Hospital.

They tweeted a warning to the public asking them to be aware of Santa travelling from Kildare to the hospital today.

Last seen on Christmas Day last year, obviously, we’re sure he wasn’t doing anything naughty.

The officers probably just wanted to have a peek at his rather impressive sleigh.

Anyway, all was well as they let Father Christmas continue on to raise more money for the kids in Temple Street Hospital.

He popped in a couple of days ago for a quick catch-up with the kids and nurses and to drop in a few goodies from Lapland.

They let everyone know about the visit in their Facebook post, saying: "That’s a mighty beard Santa! The man himself came to visit Temple Street yesterday all the way from Lapland with special goodies for our little patients. Huge thanks to Embassy of Finland in Dublin - Suomen Dublinin-suurlähetystö for organising this special treat!"

Good on ye Santy! Looking forward to our pressies.
