Do you remember your brain absolutely melting to bits as you tried to make sense of what the characters in Shakespeare's 'Hamlet' had to say during Leaving Cert English?

It was all about interpretation and finding meaning in flowery language.

Like, take this quote, for example, from the gas man that was Prince Hamlet himself:

"To sleep, perchance to dream - ay, there's the rub,

For in this sleep of death what dreams may come...”

To us that means:

"Lads, I'm knackered, I could do with a power nap coz my head is wrecked, like."

Now, that wouldn't get you many marks on your exam, would it?
