This smiley Limerick council worker is sure to brighten your day

Photographer Nicole Landers was walking home from college recently and, as she was throwing some rubbish away, she was stopped by Martin O’Loughlin who told her he was "happy to see young people are making an effort to keep this city clean".

Martin then asked her if she would take a photo of him working on the job .

Nicole posted it to her Facebook page where it’s racking up the shares and likes.

She writes:

"He said he was very proud to clean the streets of Limerick City and happy to see young people are making an effort to keep this city clean. The smile on his face tells a thousand words. I want everyone to appreciate the hard working people out there.

"I can honestly say this man made my day."

And it seems like Nicole isn’t the only one to have their day brightened by Martin.

There are dozens of comments under her Facebook post from people who have run into him on the Limerick streets - the word ’lovely’ cropped up again and again.
