The force of Storm Desmond has been shown in Cork city.

The entrance to a Brown Thomas store on Caroline Street, in the centre of the city, was blown down due to the storm this morning.

The image was captured by Richard Jacob and is a frightening reminder of how powerful the storm is.

Gardaí said no one was injured at the scene.

A spokesperson for Brown Thomas couldn't be reached.
