Long suffering guy with the @johnlewis Twitter handle finally gets some compensation
This year was no different as their ’Man on the Moon’ effort has been viewed a whopping 20 million times, leading people to flock to social media with their thoughts.
Last month we told you the unfortunate story of John Lewis from Blacksburg, Virginia in the US, who happens to hold the @johnlewis Twitter handle.
99+ notifications. Sigh.

To be fair to John he takes his annual barrage on Twitter like a champion and tries to redirect people to the official @johnlewisretail account.
Yesterday, John received a well deserved and rather apt gift from the department store chain for his troubles!
You guessed it; they gave him the telescope from the TV ad!
Sincere thanks to @johnlewisretail who sent me a beautiful telescope as a thank you for redirecting wayward tweets. https://t.co/QCylvnkEoN

This telescope is so cool! Now I'll be able to see if that guy is really up there! https://t.co/QCylvnkEoN @johnlewisretail

So John, is he really up there?
Fair play to the guys at John Lewis (the store), that was a nice touch.
