Reddit's Photoshoppers got their hands on Ireland's King of Redheads

Last weekend’s Irish Redhead Convention in Crosshaven, Co Cork, was a celebration of all things red and hairy, from amazing afros to bristly beards.

A highlight of the festival was, of course, the crowning of a King and Queen of the redheads, an honour which went to Alan Reidy and Grainne Keena.

Unfortunately for Alan, his epic ’fro attracted the good attention and ... the other kind. Reddit user Uchimaru_ posted a photo of the newly-crowned king to the Photoshop Battles forum last night, where artists use their skills to ... ’improve’ images.

It quickly became the top post of the subreddit, hitting Reddit’s front page with more than 3,500 votes. The results?

It began with some clowning around...

The poor lad was experimented on

He was eventually adopted by Ron Weasley’s family...

... and the Addams Family.

Before eventually packing it in and heading North to join Mance Rayder.

Heavy hangs the crown, it seems.

For the record, Alan seems like he has a top-notch sense of humour, and fully appreciates the advantages of his impressive mane, if his social media accounts are anything to go by.
