What do these phrases have in common? They are both famous slogans.

How many times have you seen the famous Nike swoosh and the words ’Just Do It’? Do you regularly see a celebrity on TV telling you to get a L’Oréal product ’because you’re worth it’?

We hear and see different company slogans every day, but have you ever wondered what the story behind them was?

Who came up with it? Why did it take off? Did it really make a difference to sales?

Well thanks to M2 On Hold you can get the answers.

They have put together a graphic which gives an insight into some of the biggest advertising slogans in the world.

There is some interesting stuff in the graphic, like how the L’Oréal slogan was created by 23-year-old copywriter, Ilon Specht. It was back in 1973 and it has lasted until today.

Not all slogans last as long though. Apple’s famous ’Think Different’ slogan was created in 1997. Despite winning awards and proving massively successful, it was discontinued in 2002.
