Ten people who are very excited for #sockies15

The Social Media Awards are taking place tomorrow night, and we’re excitedly picking out the perfect socks to wear, charging up our phones for a night of tweeting, and bracing ourselves for the mountain of chocolate we’ve been promised.

Ten people who are very excited for #sockies15

Okay, maybe they didn't say a mountain, but Damien Mulley told us the awards has the 'highest sugar content of any other awards show in Ireland with more sweets per seat than anyone else.'

We're clearly very happy to be nominated in two categories, and it looks like we aren't the only people who are excited about the whole thing.

Here are a few people we've spotted on Twitter who are really looking forward to their night at the awards show.

1. Michael Wall has his eyes protected from any of the Curly Wurlies Rick O'Shea mentioned that will be whizzing about.

2. We think Sinéad might be going to the Sockies. Maybe.

3. Tom McCarthy from UCC has upped the socks stakes with his patriotic pairing.

4. Sponsor Kantar Media have a tough choice ahead of them too. Spots or stripes?

5. The folks at UCC Students' Union are the most organised yet. They've been showing off their shiny new stockings.

6. Lidija is sticking to the suggested colour scheme for the night - which is all of the colours at once!

7. Kathleen O'Rourke has her feet dressed for the night, but the rest of the outfit is taking longer to plan.

8. Richard Jacob from Idaho Cafe is ensuring a full battery for a whole day of heavy-duty tweeting.

9. Long weekends are great and all, but they're not a patch on the Sockies, according to Ailish Shaw

10. A few familiar faces at RTÉ have been showing their grá for the Social Media Awards too.

The Irish Examiner is nominated for Best Use of Facebook by a Media Organisation and Best Business Twitter account. Fingers crossed!
