If you hadn’t noticed, Eurovision is on, so those topical people at Facts have launched a video onto YouTube of Irish people explaining the song contest.

It has to be said that they got a wide range of opinions about the iconic event, ranging from "I think it's a load of sh*t" to "it's exciting, it's not sport, it's something other than sport for everybody to enjoy."

We think they caught the gist of the competition's appeal: "It's nice to watch, to see all the different countries. It's a kind of a show, but I don't really think the music itself is good", and we're sure a lot of people will identify with this: "Even though I don't like the music, I just like to watch it."

Of course, the perennial complaints surfaced, like "I tried to watch it, but my dad wouldn't put it on" and "I don't really think they pick the best acts".

But it did throw up a new gripe: "There's countries that aren't even in Europe that are in it."

Yeah, why is that?
