WATCH: The moment Maura Derrane thought Dáithí Ó Sé broke a €4,500 teapot
Dáithí Ó Sé and Maura Derrane were chatting to antique dealer George Stacpoole, President of the Irish Antiques Dealers Association, about a collection which included a small teapot he had brought to the show.
Dáithí asked about the teapot, and its estimated value was revealed.
"Well, that on its own we hope would make about €4500," said George.
Just before he could give a price for the entire collection, Dáithí's butterfingers came into play, and he completely missed the counter when replacing the teapot.
It smashed into pieces live on air - and Maura’s face was priceless.
Luckily George wasn't actually €4500 out of pocket, and RTÉ kindly reimbursed the €15 he paid for the fake antique teapot.
Well done @daithi_ose loved the look on @MauraDerrane #today #teapot
