While this video ends with the tongue-on-cheek disclaimer that no robots were harmed during its making, that doesn’t stop us from feeling bad for the little robot that gets kicked.

It's all part of a showcase from Google-owned Boston Dynamics to demonstrate the capabilities of their latest robot, Spot. Spot is a four-legged robot that weighs about 160 lbs and has amazing maneuverability.

Just watch how it recovers from being kicked by an employee trying to tip it over.

Obviously, we are just projecting our feelings onto this robot but doesn't it seem like for a split second it cowered? While that raises plenty of questions around the ethical issues that humans will one day have to face as artificial intelligence evolves, for now, let's just marvel at the robot's ability to climb up steps and walk down hills.

All these skills will be vital as the robots are designed to eventually work as packhorses and scouts for the army in rough terrain.

If it does go to war, being kicked will likely be the least of Spot's worries.
