Anyone notice the awkward silence on tonight’s RTÉ News?

Poor Eileen Dunne was left looking very uncomfortable on the Nine O’Clock News tonight.

It seems there was a bit of confusion around cameras and cues as a news segment ended and we were returned to the studio.

It only lasted a few seconds and was barely noticeable, but it’s not the first time something like this has happened to RTÉ.

An almost identical thing happened to Gerry Murphy last week when he finished his weather segment.

Also in the weather department, Siobhan Ryan was caught off guard as she gave herself a little pre-game pep talk a while back.

And who can forget when this happened to Aengus Mac Grianna two whole years ago?

We might have a touch of schadenfreude but we just love when things like this happen live on air!
