The State of the Union might be one of the most important political events in the year Stateside, but that won’t stop Barack Obama having some craic.

Towards the end of his speech last night, Obama delivered a great, ad-libbed send-down to his opponents. He made reference to the fact that he's not seeking re-election, since any US president can only serve two terms.

"I have no more campaigns to run," he tells the chamber - to applause from some witty Republicans who look forward to his departure.
