Supervalu falls ’foul’ of predictive texting curse

Irish supermarket Supervalu learned all about this after a text they sent out this morning caused a bit of a stir amongst customers when they noticed a very unfortunate spelling error.
The text, which was meant to advertise their "Amazing Turkey Offers", contained the following message instead:

Needless to say, Twitter reacted appropriately.
@conor_pope @SuperValuIRL Oh, you're in trouble now with the Turkey Anti Defamation League...

Apparently they're selling bastard turkeys at super Valu today or at least according to their text they are #tasty #illegitimatebird

Supervalu have since issued an apology to customers.
"Apologies to all our customers for the error in the text message that was sent earlier this morning.
"We did not mean to cause any offense. The message should have read: Special!: Thur-Fri, Amazing Frozen Basted Turkey 4kg-5kg"

@megs_kelly1989 Apologies for the error in the text message today. This was a genuine mistake & not intended to cause offense.
