Instagram’s new standalone app Hyperlapse has rocketed up the charts today, so we thought it was only right to find out what all the fuss is about.

The app essentially lets you record video and speed it up by up to 12 times to give the impression of a timelapse – something that was previously only do-able with expensive cameras and software.
