Are these cupcake ATMs the best thing to ever happen to us?

The first cupcake ATM opened two years ago in Beverly Hills, California, and since then has been expanded throughout the US – and these pink dispensaries will be in London in the next couple of years.

“We are very excited to bring Sprinkles and the Cupcake ATM to London,” they told us.
“And are working hard to find the perfect location!”

Each cake costs $4.25 (around £2.50) and the pink dispensers are continually restocked throughout the day holding up to 800 Sprinkles bakery cupcakes at a time.
And with more than 20 flavours of cupcake including gluten free, sugar free and vegan-friendly, some even dish out cookies too, you’ll be sure to find one that hits your midnight hunger.

So how did this genius idea come about?
“I conceived the idea of an automatic cupcake machine after having late-night sugar cravings while pregnant with my second son,” said founder Candace Nelson.
“Even as Sprinkles’ founder, I couldn’t get my midnight cupcake fix! I thought ‘there has to be a way’ and so the concept of the Sprinkles Cupcake ATM was born!”

If you’re not already pumped with excitement with the possibility of having delicious cupcakes on demand in London, just know that golden tickets are hidden inside random boxes in the dispensaries every day of the week, entitling customers to anything between one and 12 free cupcakes.
And just so you know, the delicious flavours include peanut butter chocolate, cinnamon sugar and chocolate marshmallow.
