Ex-Scientologist claims Holmes is right to be afraid

Katie Holmes has every reason to fear what will happen to her six-year-old daughter Suri if she was to be taught by the Church of Scientology.

Ex-Scientologist claims Holmes is right to be afraid

That is according to the estranged niece of Scientology leader David Miscavige.

Jenna Miscavige Hill, wrote in a blog: “My experience in growing up in Scientology is that it is both mentally and at times physically abusive.

“As a mother myself, I offer my support to Katie and wish for her all of the strength she will need to do what is best for her and her daughter.”

The 28-year-old left the controversial church in 2005, according to the New York Daily News.

Last week, Holmes, 33, filed for divorce from actor Tom Cruise, 50.

One of Scientology’s many intriguing mysteries is the disappearance of Miscavige’s wife, Michelle “Shelly” Barnett, who has not been seen in public since about 2007.

She is said to have had a key role in helping to bring together Cruise and Holmes.

There are various theories abound — she has died of cancer, or has fled the Church and is keeping a low-profile.

Another has it she has been sent for re-education at a compound away from the Church’s headquarters.

Meanwhile, Holmes has been spotted almost daily since filing for divorce.

She was seen enjoying Independence Day with daughter Suri.

“I’m all right,” the New York Daily News quoted her as saying, as she pushed a shopping trolley carrying the couple’s daughter. “Thank you,” she said graciously.

Holmes is seeking sole legal custody of Suri in her divorce filing.

The brief outing came a day after Cruise spent his 50th birthday flying alone to California.
