CMAT and Jeff Goldblum to appear on first episode of new season of Saturday Night Live UK

The British live sketch comedy variety show will return later this month and will also see American actor Jeff Goldblum front the first episode.
Fresh from her captivating performance at Electric Picnic last weekend, CMAT will appear on our television screens later this month alongside Oscar-nominated Goldblum, who is best known for his starring roles in the films and and their sequels.
CMAT, who has been nominated for a Brit Award for international artist of the year twice and whose third album was nominated for the Mercury Prize and won best album at the Ivor Novello Awards in May this year, will feature on episode one of the new season, which will air on September 12.
The British incarnation of NBC sketch comedy show premiered in March, with each episode seeing a different host take to the stage each week alongside the inaugural cast, and a performance from a musical guest.
The series debuted with veteran Tina Fey as host, who was followed by actor Jamie Dornan, star Riz Ahmed, comedian Jack Whitehall, actress Nicola Coughlan, star Aimee Lou Wood, Hannah Waddingham and then Ncuti Gatwa.
It was confirmed in May that SNL UK would return for a second season.
Broadcast live each week, the show will once again welcome a different celebrity host and musical guest for every episode, alongside topical sketches, live music performances and a British take on the Weekend Update segment.
creator and executive producer Lorne Michaels previously said he was “incredibly proud” of the team and the show, which “keeps getting better every week”.
The show’s US version has been running since 1975 and is responsible for launching the careers of the likes of Fey, Bill Murray and Eddie Murphy.
