After a 10-year closure, the Savoy in Cork re-opened as a venue last Saturday night.

Highlights of the sold-out night included 20-piece brass and percussion outfit BoolaBoom, providing a high-octane mix of samba, dance classics, and other genres. Performers on the night also included flamenco fusion duo Zurito and soul group the Leon Stax Equation, while the DJ decks were manned by Stevie G, Angi and Danilo.

With a retail outlet filling the old Patrick’s Street entrance, punters entered the revamped venue around the corner at nearby Drawbridge Street.

The venue is being managed the Good Room organisation, who also run Live At St Luke's.
