Daniel Power stars in Christy, which has been shortlisted in 14 IFTA categories.

Christy - the Cork-filmed debut from director Brendan Canty - has emerged as a leading contender at this year’s Irish Film and Television Awards (IFTAs).

The film has been shortlisted in 14 categories by the Irish Film Academy which has cast its first round of voting across film and TV drama. It’s followed closely by Saipan - the story of Roy Keane and Mick McCarthy’s spectacular falling out on the eve of the 2002 World Cup - which secured 12 nominations.
