The biennial Cork Music Quiz tested the memories of local aficionados in the Crane Lane recently, and produced repeat winners at an event that raised funds for the Pieta charity.
Organised by Cork scene stalwarts Morty McCarthy, Gik Kelleher and Mark Healy, the event attracted 16 teams of four. The quiz mostly focused on gigs and bands on Leeside in the 1980s and ‘90s, with rounds of photos and audio clips augmenting the straightforward questions.
A team named Friends Of Cork City left the other 15 tables in their wake with a runaway score of 86 points out of 100. It was the second win of recent years at Crane Lane for the awesome foursome of Damien Mullally, Darren O'Keeffe, Ronan and Colm Ó Ceallacháin.
