Set in December 1974, Ira Sachs’ film unfolds in real time as the celebrated downtown New York photographer Peter Hujar (Ben Whishaw) sits in a West Village apartment with writer Linda Rosenkrantz (Rebecca Hall), recounting the details of the previous day. As memories drift through encounters with figures like Allen Ginsberg and Susan Sontag, the film becomes a meditation on creativity and sheds light on New York's vibrant downtown art world and the introspective journey of an artist's life.

A West Cork supergroup comprising Eve Clague, Liz Clark, Mary Beth O’Mahony, Míde Houlihan and Paula K O’Brien, The Kates are gearing up to release their debut album in the coming months. Their debut EP Pictures Here of Dreams was a statement of intent on release in 2024, and has seen them gig near and far in the interim. Expect razor sharp hooks, driving rhythms, and stunning vocal harmonies.

Dancing with the Stars glides back with a new cast ready to tango, jive, and cha-cha for the nation’s approval. This year’s line-up includes Eurovision winner Niamh Kavanagh, The Traitors Ireland star Paudie Moloney, singer Tolu Makay, and comedian Michael Fry, while there’s fresh stardust at the judges’ table too. Two-time Strictly Come Dancing champion Oti Mabuse steps in as head judge, joined by Brian Redmond, Arthur Gourounlian, and Karen Byrne, with Jennifer Zamparelli and Laura Fox steering proceedings.

The annual mental health, arts and culture festival returns to kickstart the year, using creativity to spark conversations, build community, and challenge stigma. In Kilcullen Town Hall, Co Kildare, Threads of Connection weaves intergenerational stories into a community quilt rooted in nature, memory and healing. Nollaig na mBan at Whelan’s celebrates Women’s Christmas with poetry and music from Vona Groarke, Tolü Makay, and Jan Brierton. Meanwhile, Studio 2: Making My Mark at McKenna Gallery, Riverbank Arts Centre, Co Kildare, invites audiences into Johnny Tierney’s working studio for an intimate, hands-on solo exhibition.
