Live at the Marquee announces band's anniversary tour coming to Cork next summer

Two Door Cinema Club will take to the stage of Live at the Marquee Cork next summer, Aiken Promotions has announced.
The gig at the tented venue in Cork city on June 23 will mark the 15th anniversary of the band’s debut album
Hailing from Bangor and Donaghadee, Two Door Cinema Club consists of singer, guitarist and programmer Alex Trimble, guitarist and singer Sam Halliday and bassist and singer Kevin Baird.
The trio began writing in Trimble’s parents garage and skipped going to university to focus on the band. Fortunately, the gamble paid off and the band’s self-released debut EP, , was released in January 2009 to positive reviews, which grew with the release of the EP’s leading track, .
Following the release of their debut album in 2010, the band gained recognition, and the album hit number one on the Irish chart, landed on the BBC Sound of 2010 Poll, and went on to be a globally lauded debut record.
They continued to evolve, landing in the Top 2 of the UK chart with sophomore album 2012’s and subsequent albums , and .
Most recently, in 2024, the band embarked on a sold-out 30-date amphitheater tour of the United States, finishing the year with a sold-out Australian arena tour culminating in an incredible performance at the iconic Sydney Opera House.
Speaking about their gig in Cork next summer, the band said: “We have incredible memories of touring around Ireland in our converted dog groomer’s van, playing every pub or club that would take us, it’s where really came to life.
"Before anyone else, it was at home where we felt the love so it feels right to announce our exciting anniversary plans for Ireland first.”
