Dancing With The Stars judge announces departure from show

Loraine Barry will not return to screens as a judge on
this year.The four-time world dance champion has been with the show for eight seasons.
In a statement posted to her Instagram page, she said it was "the right time" for her to stand down as head judge.
"I'm very grateful for the memories, friendships, and the enormous amount of joy shared throughout the years. It's a wonderful family show that I have loved being a part of."
She continued: "My heartfelt thanks goes to the viewers of all ages and indeed to everyone for their support over the years, but especially this year."
In January, Barry's mother and former partner both passed away.
The 60-year-old concluded her post by saying she would miss the team and cast.
In their own statement, RTÉ said, "since 2017, [Barry's] passion, wisdom and sparkle has helped shape the series into something truly unforgettable.
"We wish her love, joy and exciting new adventures ahead. She will forever be our Queen of the Ballroom."
The station is yet to reveal whether the show will bring in a replacement judge or appoint one of the current judges as head judge.
This year's judging line-up also included Brian Redmond and Arthur Gourounlian, and Karen Byrne, a two-time winner of the show who joined the panel for the first time in 2025.
Commenting on Barry's post, fellow judge Arthur Gourounlian wrote, "Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for every memory, every laugh, every chat. I know how tough this past year has been for you, but I also know the strength and grace you carry. Wishing you nothing but joy, love, and success in every new adventure ahead."
Host Doireann Garrihy shared, "Grateful to have worked alongside you Loraine. You will be so missed in the ballroom. A legend and a lady!."
