The trailer for the much-anticipated movie
, a new drama starring Cillian Murphy, has been released.In the new movie, the Oscar winner plays Steve — a teacher struggling with his mental health while trying to help students at a last-chance reform school..
A reimagining of Max Porter’s Sunday Times bestseller,
, and directed by Tim Mielants, is in select theaters from September 19 and will stream on Netflix from October 3.The European premiere of Murphy’s latest film will take place at The Arc Cinema in Cork city on September 13.
Part of the Sounds from a Safe Harbour programme, the premiere, which has now sold out, will be followed by a Q&A with Cillian Murphy, Max Porter, and Tim Mielants at the Cork Opera House.

Expressing his delight that his latest film will receive its European premiere in his home city, Murphy told the : "I'm really proud to be able to premiere the film in my hometown. It’s massive for me. And a big shout out to Netflix for helping us to sort it."
Set in the mid-90s, the film follows a pivotal day in the life of headteacher Steve and his students as he fights to protect the school’s integrity and impending closure while grappling with his own mental health.

In the trailer, Murphy is seen gently talking to his students, trying to make them understand that they're not alone, but the tension builds, as we see Steve struggling with his own demons.
Starring alongside Murphy are Tracey Ullman, Simbi Ajikawo and Emily Watson.
New photos from Netflix also show the cast in action. One image shows Murphy holding his hands over his ears as the students shout around him, while another sees him chatting with one of the lads on his bed.
