Tickets for Cian Ducrot's second Leeside gig at Live at the Marquee this summer went on sale this morning following demand from fans for the singer-songwriter to play an additional homecoming gig.

The Grammy winner announced a second Live at the Marquee homecoming gig earlier this week and tickets went on sale this morning.

The singer-songwriter from Cork will take to the stage at the tented venue on July 20, as well as the previously announced date of July 19.

Ducrot took to his Instagram on Friday saying: "Cork!! You sold out night one at the Marquee and since I've had so many dm's from your nans brothers dogs baby-sitter who didn't get a ticket we've added a second date!!"

Ducrot was recently in the spotlight after scooping his first Grammy Award at the 2025 ceremony in Los Angeles.

The 'I'll Be Waiting' hitmaker secured the prestigious award for his contribution to co-writing SZA's hit track 'Saturn', which was named Best R&B Song at the awards.

Taking to social media following his win at the awards, he thanked SZA for “writing a masterpiece” and said he was “honoured” to collect the award alongside everyone who collaborated on the song.

Last year, Ducrot made his main-stage debut at Electric Picnic and played a sold-out gig at Musgrave Park which he described as "absolutely incredible".

Maintaining a busy schedule, Ducrot is set to play a string of sold-out dates across Europe later this year, including two nights at Dublin's 3Arena and two dates at Live at the Marquee in July.

But who is Cian Ducrot and how did he rise to fame?

Ducrot was raised in Passage West in Cork where his French mother was a concert pianist and flautist.

Ducrot attended St Peter's Community School in Passage, and joined musicals and drama clubs during his school years. He moved to the UK after he won a scholarship to Wells Cathedral School, a specialist music school in the county of Somerset.

He was later accepted to study at the Royal Academy of Music in London on a full scholarship where he studied classical flute.

A couple of years into his schooling in London, Ducrot took a trip to Los Angeles that inspired him to pursue his dream of becoming a pop artist instead of a classical flautist, leaving school and returning to Ireland to pursue that dream.

Success to date

Ducrot kicked off his career by posting his songs to TikTok and has gained huge success in the last number of years.

The singer-songwriter, who now has 4.5 million followers on the social media platform, quickly became known for his 'flash mob choir' videos and even appeared with the choir on a live broadcast of NBC's 'Today' show in New York in 2023, surprising presenter Hoda Kotb with a performance of I’ll Be Waiting and bringing her to tears.

In April 2022, he released 'All for You' which became his first charting single, peaking at number 2 in Ireland and number 19 in the United Kingdom. That November he released I'll Be Waiting which began climbing national charts in early 2023.

He went on to release a cover of 'Hallelujah' in December 2022 and was joined by the Royal Northern College of Music Student Choir in a live video of the song.

In March 2023, Ducrot was announced as the support act for Ed Sheeran on his four-date UK tour and released 'Part of Me' later that month, which was a tribute to his best friend who ended his life.

His debut studio album Victory was released on August 4, 2023 and reached number 1 in Ireland.

From humble beginnings of busking and playing in local pubs to making his main-stage debut at Electric Picnic and playing a sold-out gig at Musgrave Park in 2024, Ducrot has carved out an impressive career for himself which reached new heights on Sunday when he recognised his dream of winning a Grammy Award.

  • Ducrot will return home this summer to perform at the Live at the Marquee venue on Saturday, July 19 and Sunday, July 20.
  • Tickets for the second date on July 20 are still available at ticketmaster.ie.
