Doireann Garrihy is making a return to radio with her very own show on RTÉ 2FM as part of the station’s brand-new daytime and weekend schedule.
The broadcaster and presenter said she “cannot wait” to put her own stamp on RTÉ 2FM’s brand new Drivetime Show in February.
Garrihy, who recently got married, was part of the 2FM line-up for five years before departing her breakfast show with Carl Mullan and rugby star Donncha O'Callaghan in May last year.
Taking to Instagram to share the news, she wrote: "SOME NEWS in the form of 2FM DRIVE with Doireann Garrihy. I am so beyond excited to tell you I am BACK.
"Weekdays from 3-6pm on @rte2fm radio is where my heart is, and absence has only made the heart grow fonder. It is an absolute dream come true to have my very own show.
"I CANNOT WAIT to put my own stamp on it, to rise at a reasonable hour and to be back with you, the listeners. Bring it on".
RTÉ 2FM also announced that an all-new Breakfast Show will be presented by Carl Mullan, Roz Purcell, and Aisling Bonner, with Laura Fox taking on the mid-morning and Tracy Clifford presenting from noon.
The weekend schedule sees the addition of four new presenters including Benny Bracken, Helen Galgey, Mikey O'Reilly, and Demi Issac who will present from RTÉ's Cork studios.
Head of RTÉ 2FM, Dan Healy said: “I'm really excited to launch our daytime schedule with new and familiar voices on 2FM as we welcome back Doireann to present our new Drivetime show and look forward to Carl, Roz, and Aisling as our new breakfast hosts.

“Designed for today’s audience, the new schedule will have an emphasis on Irish and new music, inclusivity and original entertainment.
"Whether you’re starting the day, on your commute, or unwinding over the weekend, 2FM will have something fresh and exciting waiting for you.”
The new daytime and weekend schedules launch in February 2025.
