Duran Duran announce Cork gig as part of European tour

Duran Duran will take to the stage at Musgrave Park on July 1.

Music icons Duran Duran are set to take to the stage at Cork’s Musgrave Park this summer as part of a wider European tour.

The British band will play two Irish dates - Musgrave Park on July 1 and Malahide Castle on June 30 - as part of their European tour kicking off in early June.

The tour includes two UK shows in Exeter and Chelmsford, as well as performances in Finland, Belgium, The Netherlands, Denmark, Italy, Germany and Spain throughout June into early July.

Joining the multi-award-winning Rock & Roll Hall of Famers as special guests will be long-time friend and hit-making collaborator Nile Rodgers who will perform hit after hit with his band Chic.

Nile worked with Duran Duran on many tracks across their four-decade career, including their global number one single The Reflex.

Duran Duran have sold more than 100 million records worldwide and scored 18 American hit singles and 21 UK Top 20 tunes, cementing them as one of the most successful and influential bands of all time.

They have also been honoured with eight lifetime achievement awards, two Grammys, two BRITs, and two Ivor Novellos.

Fans can expect a setlist packed with classics such as Hungry Like the Wolf, Ordinary World, and Rio, alongside newer tracks from their acclaimed 2023 album Danse Macabre.

Their 10th UK Top 5 album forms part of a series of recent landmark achievements, including headlining Latitude Festival and London’s Hyde Park, sold-out UK and US arena tours, performing at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Concert at Buckingham Palace, closing the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in their hometown of Birmingham, and their 2022 induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10am. There will be a pre-sale for the DD VIP Community members on Wednesday at 10am.
