L-R: Timothée Chalamet as Bob Dylan in 'A Complete Unknown'; Rhiannon Giddens plays the White Horse, Cork
Music aficionados are likely already familiar with Bob Dylan’s rise to fame in the early 1960s, but Timothée Chalamet is likely to open the troubadour up to a whole new, younger audience. He plays Dylan as he rises at meteoric pace in New York. It’s an Oscar-worthy turn by Chalamet, who performs all the music himself. He’ll be the host and musical guest of Saturday Night Live on January 25 too - the real deal!
Formerly known as Langer & the Gowl and running since 2021, podcasters and friends John and Lauren bring their podcast Feens on Toast for a live outing to Coughlan’s.

They promise load of laughs, a few surprises, and maybe even a special guest. Check out last week’s episode to hear how preparations for the show were going.
A re-run of the show created in 2022 by acclaimed playwright Emmet Kirwan and the late Cork musician Eoin French - the show features his music and poetry - Accents offers a powerful journey through a gentrified city.

Kirwan explores the sounds of our voices and how they define us, how we’re perceived and how they can give us power. The play is at the Everyman in Cork on Feb 18-19, and is also touring to Wicklow, Limerick and Galway.
Currently seen every Sunday night on Dancing with the Stars - he came out all guns blazing last weekend with his cha cha cha, says Nicole Glennon - Farrelly returns to the ‘day job’ the previous night with his brilliantly named new show,

Gearóid Rage. He touches “on the many, many, MANY things that make his blood boil”.
An annual winter warmer, the White Horse plays host to headliners like the White Horse Guitar Club, Clare Sands, and Rhiannon Giddens, among others, over the next week. There are also trad sessions and workshops on sean-nós and Ukrainian music over the course of the festival - and you can also ‘Meet the Makers’ from Crowley’s Music Centre.
