Irish/English alternative rock band My Bloody Valentine's announcement for a 3Arena gig on Saturday, November 22, 2025, has been greeted warmly by fans.

Beloved by a generation of indie and alternative fans in the 1980s and 1990s for layered, dense guitars that created a characteristic wall of sound, the band's critical peak arrived with the eventual release of their second album Loveless in 1991, led off by iconic single 'Only Shallow'.

The pressure generated by years of anticipation, a protracted recording process and strained relationships with label Creation led to the band's indefinite hiatus shortly after its release, but its pop-cultural impact has added to its legacy and intrigue.

From appearances in iconic ads, and Sofia Coppola's 2003 film Lost in Translation; to recurring references in the legendary videogame Final Fantasy VII, and a line of Supreme fashion gear inspired by its album cover's saturated pink-and-purple colour scheme, Loveless' long-term legacy has led a new generation of fans to covet physical copies of My Bloody Valentine's work, reissued on vinyl in 2021, and attend their handful of live appearances in the past number of years.

Meanwhile, Loveless itself has come in for countless critical accolades, from topping the Irish Times' Top 40 Irish Albums of All Time, to being declared the best album of the 1990s by US music blog Pitchfork.

  • Tickets go on sale from Friday, November 29 at 10am through Ticketmaster.

Big announcements

The announcement comes on the same day that US singer Lana del Rey has been announced for a headline slot at Dublin's Aviva Stadium on Monday June 30, according to organisers MCD.

Del Rey's headlining excursion comes as part of a European stadium tour, and likely will accompany the anticipated release of upcoming album Lasso, rumoured to mark a move into the country genre for a singer best known for brooding alternative pop.

  • Tickets go on sale from Friday, November 29 at 10am through Ticketmaster.

The announcements follow the unveiling of major names for standalone and festival gigs throughout the Summer of 2025, from world-dominating popstar Charli xcx in Dublin and Belfast; to a brace of homecoming headliners at All Together Now next August Bank Holiday, including CMAT, Bicep and Fontaines DC.
