The original curators of Sounds From A Safe Harbour in Cork: Mary Hickson, Enda Walsh, Aaron Dessner, Cillian Murphy and Bryce Dessner.

Cork actor Cillian Murphy will continue to be involved in the Sounds From A Safe Harbour Festival in his native city. As part of an announcement revealing the dates of next year’s biennial event, the Safe Harbour organisers confirmed the Oscar winner will continue as a co-curator alongside festival founder Mary Hickson and musician Bryce Dessner of US band The National.

The 2025 festival, which will run from September 11-14, also welcomes two new collaborators, British author Max Porter and Kerry-based folklorist Billy MagFhlionn. Porter had taken part in several events in the 2023 festival, and has worked on other projects with Murphy, including a stage adaptation of his novel, Grief Is The Thing With Feathers.
