Listowel Writer's Week, Ireland's oldest literary and arts festival, has announced the shortlist for its prestigious Novel of the Year award.

In its thirtieth anniversary, the Kerry Group-sponsored honour is being contested by a strong line-up of Irish fiction talent. The shortlisted novel are:
