Old Ireland in Colour 3: Latest book breathes new life into incredible old images

Old Ireland in Colour 3 is the third in the series.

When historian Dr Sarah-Anne Buckley got involved with a photographic project during the dark days of covid back in 2020, she couldn’t have foreseen the phenomenon it would become.

Old Ireland in Colour, a collection of historical colourised images of Irish life, became a publishing sensation, notching up sales in excess of €1 million, and it is now on its third volume. The project is the brainchild of academic John Breslin, who brought Buckley on board to provide historical context for the images.
