Over 1 million people have liked a post by American author Demez White after he uploaded a picture of his back-yard set-up for a homely ‘date’ with his girlfriend.

The post explained that his girlfriend had told him she had had a bad day and his bank account told him he was broke, so being resourceful he pulled together a romantic meal in his back garden.
