I know, the ground would never be dry enough for a wildfire to start in Ireland.
For we are a proud little wet country and the rain, complain though we might, is never going to go to Spain.
But say the clouds did fly off at the wave of your hand just like those pesky magpies.
The heat and the smoke would be worse than the smoking area in Temple Bar on a bank holiday.
What if the heat-wave we’ve all been waiting for lasts for more than three days? Sure the Irish countryside would be like a tinderbox.
As Danny Healy Rae once said, "God above is in charge of the weather and we can't do anything about it."
So, not to worry folks. Instead feast your eyes on this.
One Imgur user has projected the size of the wildfire in Fort McMurray onto Dublin, and my God it would have most of the country eaten alive.
