This squirrel lost his house and it's the saddest thing ever

Nuts.

This post about a squirrel who lost his home when the tree was cut down is at the top of Reddit at the moment.

Redditor NeedMoreSunn posted two photos of the squirrel standing on the tree stump where he used to live and his face would break your heart.

"Two weeks ago our neighbours decided to cut it down. This is the first time I have seen him back standing where his house used to be."

As one commenter pointed out, however, the squirrel might be more confused than sad:

"I'm so freaking sure it was in here, but where is the rest of the tree? Did I take a wrong turn somewhere? I sure as hell recognize that bush over there."

Either way, we hope the little guy finds an even better tree to live in.
