VIDEO: New campaign for Barbie looks to change the brand's image

Mattel has attempted to reframe Barbie's brand image problem in its new ad 'Imagine The Possibilities'.
In an effort to change how adults view the doll, Mattel has performed this stunt in order to capture the reactions of unsuspecting adults.
The ad presents the doll as a blank slate and touches on few of the possibilities that a child may imagine.
Although many adults may have been worrying about how Barbie instils an unrealistic body image in kids, this ad reminds us that sometimes it is not about how the doll looks but how a child looks at the doll.
"My whole philosophy of Barbie was that, through the doll, the little girl could be anything she wanted to be. Barbie always represented the fact that a woman has choices", says Ruth Handler, Barbie creator.
