Retailer in Sandycove resorts to deperate measures to pay rates.

Dublin shop launches first pay-per-view sandwich board

Apparently, Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Council have imposed a street furniture and plant tax on local shopkeepers.

This has become too much for one retailer, Gerard Maguire, who owns a wine shop on the Glasthule Road in Sandycove.

So, to raise the €11,000 he claims to pay in rates, he's asking passersby for a contribution.
