Tonnes of molten lava and volcanic ash spew forth in this remarkable time-lapse clip.

This stunning timelapse footage shows the eruption of Mount Sinabung on Sumatra island, northwest Indonesia in recent weeks.

While the images may look impressive, the active volcano has cause havoc in the region with over 25,000 people evacuated from the danger area since the active flows began last September and authorities raised the alert status to the highest level in November.
