A real life fire rescue

We have all heard about someone being rescued from a burning building but how many of us have seen it happen?

This amateur video depicts this exact scenario.

As smoke billows out from a window on the fifth floor, a man emerges clinging to the window sill.

Panic ensues as a brave rescuer on the outside stairwell opposite the fifth floor attempts to get across, but to no avail.

The quick thinking of a fourth floor resident did the trick though.

A ladder was extended to the window sill below the man. The monkey-like movements of the rescuer were paramount in leading the trapped man away from the black fumes - which at this point were beginning to engulf him.

You'll watch it like I did…hoping the ladder can take the weight of the two of them
