LEGO unveils first female scientist minifig

In a small-but-significant blow for gender equality, the latest series of LEGO minifigures features - for the first time - a female scientist.

If you have kids, you'll be familiar with LEGO's series of minifigures - also known as 'minifigs'.

As well as featuring in the Danish toy giant's playsets, the minifigs are also sold separately in 'mystery' bags (a godsend for parents who want to escape the toy shop without dropping a fortune) and each new series release is eagerly awaited by fans young and old.
