G'day. I'm a Jedi.

Star Wars Downunder has Ned Kelly stormtroopers and lightsaber boomerangs

Have you ever thought to yourself: man, Star Wars would be so much better with more Australians?

Of course you haven't. But it would be.

Star Wars Downunder is a fan-made film with some pretty awesome special effects, which includes boomerang lightsabers, stormtroopers who wear Ned Kelly's armour, and a plot that sees our hero, Merve Bushwacker, on a quest for beer (pronounced be-ear).

Go on, have a capt'n cook:

Strewth! That's a corker.

The trailer has only just been released online, with the full 30-minute release due in the next few weeks.

The film's creator says Jedi Bushwacker 's mission is "to partake in a refreshing beverage, known locally as amber fluid."

"On his arrival, he is dismayed to discover the planet has become as dry as a dead dingo′s donger, thanks to the tyrannical rule of Darth Drongo," the official site explains.

"Drongo has hoarded all the amber fluid in his impenetrable fortress “Dunny’s Deep” for reasons unknown. Can Merve, and a motley collection of unlikely allies band together to topple Drongo’s evil regime? Will liberty and amber fluid flow freely once more?"

Sounds like a ripper.

(Hat-tip to r/Australia, who not only spotted the trailer, but also helped with those bits of slang).

Glossary:

capt'n cook: a look

corker: something great

ripper: fantastic

dead dingo's donger: something very rude
