Elizabeth Taylor ring sold for $8.8m

A diamond ring given to Elizabeth Taylor by actor Richard Burton sold for more than $8.8m (€6.76m) at auction in New York.

The 33.19-carat ring was part of Christie's sale of jewellery and other items from the collection of the late actress, who starred in National Velvet and Cleopatra.
