Cheryl Cole is determined to carve a career without Simon Cowell.

The 27-year-old beauty – who was sensationally sacked as a judge on the US version of 'X Factor' last week after just four audition recordings – does now want the music mogul to be the "puppet master" behind her career and is keen to work on her own terms and not become the new Sinitta, Simon's ex-girlfriend who assists him on the TV talent show.
